Cheap Wicked Theatre tickets on Broadway NY?

Hi I wanted to find tickets for OCT 14 to wicked i dont mind paying a fair amount eg $100 or so but i want at least a good set of seats!
How can i see which position the seats are on the row eg centre or extreme left etc etc?
Are they available at TKTS?
Will i pick up a bargain on the day?
What do people think?

I use TKTS a lot and I get email updates from the the Theater Development Fund which runs TKTS with updates about what is available. Wicked is NEVER available, at least as far as I’ve noticed.

Wicked is one of those shows that has a very enthusiastic audience among a certain demographic (teen aged girls and young women) and as a result it does very well without discounts.

I’m sorry. I’d love to take my 14 year old daughter to see Wicked, but so far, no luck!

If you are lucky enough to buy tickets you can afford, here is the website with a seating chart for the theater where it is playing (the Gershwin Theater):

BTW, the Gershwin is HUGE, particularly the orchestra area, and the acoustics is not great, particularly for seats near the wall. It can feel really far away, too, if you are not in the first part of the orchestra. I’ve never seen Wicked, but I have seen several other musicals there before and it’s a difficult theater.

One of the most common complaints about musicals is that the books are flimsy pretexts from which to hang numbers. Wicked runs into the opposite problem: it has a great plot, but too often the songs just get in the way. Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel of the same name, Wicked tells us what happened between Glinda the Good and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, before Dorothy showed up in Oz. …
