how do you get discounts on tickets to wicked the musical on broadway? oh and what are the worst/best seats?
I desperately want to go to see wicked!! I already know the story and I’ve watched it on youtube (the whole thing) and absolutely love the songs and story! are there any discounts to wicked on broadway in gershwin theatre? p.s. elphaba is awesome!
Because of the popularity of the show, there are normally no discounts to see the show. If you go into the city, you can lotto for tickets for the show. Each day, two hours prior to show time (11:30 AM for 2 PM matinees; 12:30 PM for 3 PM matinees; 4:30 PM for 7 PM performances; 5:30 PM for 8 PM performances), people who present themselves at the Gershwin Theatre box office will have their names placed in a hat. Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for 28 front-row seats at $26.50 each. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of 2 tickets per person, cash only. You must have a photo-ID on you to lotto and be able to buy tickets. Sitting in the front row is also an awesome experience. I’ve seen Wicked at the Gershwin in the front and it had to be one of my favorite times seeing the show! These are the best seats in the house (also with the best price! The ones right behind them center are around $200 each!)
