Arkansas Razorbacks Tickets Bulldogs Put Hogs Out To Pasture
The Razorbacks undoubtedly went into the game against the Mississippi Bulldogs with every intention of winning. The Bulldogs, however, decided something different as they came out on the floor kicking butt and taking no names. The Bulldogs scored a school record 16 3-pointers and left the Razorbacks wondering what happened as the Bulldogs defeated the Razorbacks 86-77. The Razorbacks gave it a shot but when the final clock buzzed, the victory went to the Bulldogs.
On the active roster in the game were sophomore Marcus Britt (12) from Madison Arkansas, freshman Andre Clark (44) from North Little Rock Arkansas, freshman Rotnei Clark (15) from Verdigris Oklahoma, junior Stephen Cox (25) from Jonesboro Arkansas, freshman Courtney Fortson (4) from Montgomery Alabama, freshman Jason Henry (1) from West Memphis Arkansas, freshman Nick Mason (2) from Jonesboro Arkansas, senior Marcus Monk (10) from Lepanto Arkansas, freshman Brandon Moore (11) from New Orleans Louisiana, senior John Paul Noland (31) from Southlake Texas, freshman Michael Sanchez (31) from Springdale Arkansas, junior Michael Washington (00) from McGehee Arkansas and junior Stefan Welsh (14) from Newport News Virginia.
The recent loss to the Bulldogs marks the third loss in a row for the Razorbacks. Recent games against Tennessee and LSU were unsuccessful attempts by the Razorbacks to stay on top of their game long enough to see it to a win. With the season well underway, the Razorbacks will be engaging in less than a dozen more games before the SEC Tournament to be held March 12-15. Games remaining in the season before that include those against Auburn on February 11, Kentucky on February 14, LSU on February 18, South Carolina on February 21, Alabama on February 25, Georgia on March 1, Ole Miss on March 4 and Vanderbilt on March 8.
The remainder games will definitely have an impact on whether or not the Razorbacks see the NCAA Tournament first and second rounds on Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22, the NCAA Tournament Regionals on Thursday, March 26 through Sunday, March 29 and the NCAA Final Four on Saturday, April 4 through Monday, April 6. Maybe the coaches have their work cut out for them taking the Razorbacks through their routines.
The coaching team for the Razorbacks is lead by head coach John Pelphrey, assistant coach Isaac Brown, assistant coach Tom Ostrom, assistant coach Rob Evans, director of basketball operations Damon Jones and program specialist/video coordinator Matt Siverling. Pelphrey lead the Razorbacks to the top and set a school record for a first-year coach. Everyone is undoubtedly expecting similar results again this year from Pelphrey.
As it stands, current overall record statistics for all games for the Razorbacks are 13-8 overall, 11-3 home, 1-5 away and 1-0 neutral. Statistical rankings recognize Washington in the lead, followed by Fortson, Welsh, Clarke, Henry, Sanchez, McDonald, Monk, Britt, Clark, Moore, Cox, Mason and Noland. Cox, Mason and Nolan have collectively played less than 13 games, which accounts for their rankings at the bottom of the statistics.
