im planning a trip to disney world, august of 2009. planning on 5 night/6 day ticket package.?
i have visited allears.net and looked at the tips given. we are looking at going the 3rd to last week of august. will this be a good time to visit or should i move it to another time. we are also planning on staying at one of the all star resorts.
will be planning for 3 adults, 2 children. one adult has a mobility disability.
We also went the 3rd week of August in 2005 thru Labor Day weekend…To be honest, it is very hot and humid…There were some thunderstorms everyday in the afternoon for a short time, which we thought was a nice break for cooling off. But, after that, the heat came rolling back in to the point where you feel like you sometimes can’t breathe.
…On a positive side, I was very surprised to see that the crowds were somewhat down…I guess a lot of schools are back in session in the latter part of August. I expected it to be a madhouse, but I’m happy to say it was not.
…Another positive, during this time (End of August to mid-September), Disney has been known for giving out a free promo of the Dining Plan…it’s awesome!
If you do decide to go, get a “Misty Mate” for everyone or any other personal water misters and drink plenty of water.
We haven’t been to All-Star yet either, so I can’t comment…Actually, we’ll be at the All-Star Sports this September (since we couldn’t get into Pop Century, which I love), and I’m also curious about it….All I know is that the “Sports” is the first to be picked up by the transportation bus, then “Music”, and the last is “Movies”.
