Part the area known as the Grand Strand is Huntington Beach. Located in historic Murrells inlet and is a short distance from the famous Brookgreen Gardens. This castle was the winter residence and studio of American sculptor Anna Hyatt for the Huntington and her husband, the philanthropist Archer Huntington. The sands of the beautiful and historic Isle of Palms is a perfect place to stop and watch the sunrise. Its white sand and crystal clear waters are a magnificent spectacle. Not far from the Isle of Palms Kiawah Island a small beach and golf resort located on a small island south of the city of Charleston, South Carolina. The island received the name of the local indigenous tribes in Indian Kiawah that led the British to Charlestown Landing in 1720. Known as the golf destination of a cousin, Kiawah Island offers five different award winning courses, such as the Turtle Point Golf Course, designed by professional golfer Jack Nicklaus. There is also the Ocean Course, designed by Pete Dye golf player and three other golf courses.
Edisto and Hunting Island also areas of very nice beach with amazing attractions. Hunting Beach has many different types of wildlife for wildlife watchers. The Great Blue Heron, Osprey and bald eagles and make their homes here and you can see everywhere you go. The same applies to many types of aquatic life, such as lizards and horseshoe crabs. Edisto Island is one of the North and South Edisto rivers are the island. It offers many different recreational opportunities including golf courses and restaurants.
