California Green Zone Parking?
I am 25 years old and disabled in a wheelchair due to back problems. Me and my dad went shopping for my pets yesterday and where we go it’s not that much parking available so we parked in a 30 minute green zone. I hung my blue disable placard on the inside mirror and was gone for about 45 minutes. We came out a meter reader was writing a ticket so I asked what was she doing and she had a very awful attitude. I showed her where I hung the placard and she told me that it didn’t mater and that we was in this spot for over 30 mins. Then she went on to say that if we didn’t move the car that she would have it towed away. If I remember right on the paperwork that came with the placard it said that I could park in a green zone without a time limit. Am I in the wrong here?
You are correct.
Go to the nearest police station (wherever the ticket was issued from i think) and they should take care of it.
Just be sure to have your paperwork identifying you as the placard holder.
