Which seats should I get? Row S Orchestra or Row C Mezzanine?
I’m planning to go see Mamma Mia! but the “best” seats (not including Premium Seats) are Row S Center Orchestra and Row C Center Mezzanine.
Row A Mezzanine overhangs Row O Orchestra
I’m so confused! Haha
Opinions would be very helpful!
Row C Mezzanine
Most Orchestra Seating is relatively flat; just a slight downhill from the last row to the first. Row S is near the back, probably eye level with the performers. You’ll be trying to look over the heads of the people in front of you.
Mezzanine’s typically have a steeper slope, as they have to “point” towards the stage for everyone to see. And since it is moderately far back, the stage will be in front of you at less of a downward angle than the seat in front of you. Better chance at a good view.
Bring a set of “opera glasses” (small binoculars) so you can get a front-row view from rear-row seating.
There’s a lot of action in Mamma Mia, so you’ll want to be sure you have the best possible seats to capture it all. Sitting too close forces you to keep moving your eyes back and forth to catch action; sittting further back lets you see the entire stage in your frame of view.
ENJOY THE SHOW. And buy the CD in the lobby. Sure, it’ll cost more than on-line, but it becomes a great momento of your seeing it live. With any kind of luck you might even get a chance to have a cast member sign the liner.

Tony Bennett – American Classic $7.25 High concept and high class, An American Classic is a worthy visual complement to Tony Bennett’s 2006 duets CD of the same name. The notion of pairing veteran artists with a variety of singing partners is nothing new, of course (cf. B.B. King and Frank Sinatra, among many others), but this one goes a step further; under the direction of Rob Marshall (Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha) and his team, Ben… |
