I have really dry skin on my face right below my eyes but nowhere else on my face. What could this be from?
sometimes it starts to peel. I don’t go out in the sun too much and I use facial scrub and lotions on my face..i don’t know what’s going on..please help!
The condition might be eczema, which doesn’t necessarily help much since there are numerous things that can cause eczema. Allergies are a common cause of this – it can be soaps, shampoos, fragrances, eye makeup, something in the lotions, you are using, food allergies, and even things like dust mites. Some of other common causes are thyroid problems or iron anemia. There is still a list of other causes, but most other things also create additional symptoms that would be more of a problem than dry skin.
There are several ways to deal with this. One way is to apply a cortisone cream a few times each day. Often, this clears up the problem within a few days. However, the problem may keep retuning each time you stop using cortisone cream, and using cortisone cream on a continuous basis is not a good idea. So, the other approach is to stop using soaps, lotions, or any type of cosmetic products on your face, and after waiting a week or two, switch to minimal use of hypoallergenic facial products. If neither of these help, then it might be worthwhile seeing a dermatologist or visiting your regular doc for a complete physical exam that includes a wellness blood test panel.
